For the first few months of 2022, we’ve been quietly working on reimagining Cascadin. Our mission isn’t changing, but we’re trying something new. It’s a new outlook to help you and small teams. It’s a new beginning for us, and I couldn’t be more excited.

An ongoing journey of learning

If you’ve ever participated in a new business or startup, you probably understand that there is much to learn. It’s hard to believe, but we formed our company, Ripples Unlimited, LLC, five years ago this month. Suffice it to say, we’ve learned A LOT on this journey. We’re not done learning, either.

Our mission has always been to develop simple software tools. We want to make them easy to use and afford. This way, individuals, smaller teams, and businesses can have all the advantages of enterprise-level tools without the cost or complexity.

Working towards this mission hasn’t been easy. It turns out that building a simple tool is complicated. The irony is not lost on us. It’s also been challenging for us to explain what Cascadin can do for you.

We realized that our website and public resources weren’t describing Cascadin and its helpfulness well enough. That saying something is simple isn’t enough. We needed to do a better job, by simplifying everything.

In other words, we need to do less, better.

A new launch for our new outlook

To do less, better, we overhauled our website to be more reflective of Cascadin’s simplicity. Our tool has changed a lot over the years, and with the recent release of Cascadin 2.0, it’s never been simpler or easier to use. It was time for our website to reflect the new and improved Cascadin, and we’re thrilled with the results.

Why doing less is better

We live in a complicated world. There are a lot of things you and I can’t control. That doesn’t mean there aren’t things we can do for ourselves to make it a little easier in the chaos. I appreciate conversations about four-day workweeks, work-life harmony, and the push back against toxic productivity culture

In many ways, it’s counterintuitive to be the co-founder of a software tool in the productivity arena to say that I want to do less, better, and help others do the same. And yet, that idea for Jake and I has always been there.

Two wine glasses with a sign that says "do less better" in between. There is a flower arrangement on the left and a bottle of wine behind the sign. This represents our new outlook to help you, something we've thought about for a while it turns out.

The phrase, “do less, better,” has been a part of our core motivation from the very beginning of a wild idea to build a tech company. My motivation stemmed from the frustration I had with the software tools I was using as a study abroad advisor. They were needlessly complex. I knew I was working twice as hard as I should have because of software complexity. I wanted to do less, but better. That’s why our new outlook to help you do less, better, makes so much sense.

Onward

Today is the day when it finally feels like we’re delivering on that motivation. Cascadin’s simplicity is truly unique. Its evolution from late 2019 to now is evident. Our new outlook to help you and others do less, better is off to a great start.

We have more to do, and there remain many things that we want to do to make Cascadin simpler. This journey isn’t over. But we have taken a few big steps forward on that journey, and it feels good.

If you’re curious to see how a productivity tool can help you do less, better, let’s chat! Better yet, start your 30-day free trial today to explore how simple it can be to organize, track, and document all the awesome things you’re doing. You deserve to do less, better.
